Schedule 2011
February 20th 1:00 pm - Choice nines of partners
Partners play and select the best combination of one player’s front nine and the other player’s back nine. The same player’s score may be used on the front and back nine. (90% handicap)
March 26th – 27th - BLGC Masters (11:00 am Saturday – 1:00 pm Sunday)
Competitors will play individual stroke play in both rounds. The second day will be a hard course day. i.e. - holes, tees and cut length will allow the course to play as difficult as possible. (100% handicap)
April 17th 1:00 pm – Partners string tournament
Partners will be given a length of string in relation to their handicap. The player may advance the ball by hand to a more favorable spot at any time. Measure the distance the ball was moved with the string. Cut off the length used. The string may be used on the putting green to advance the ball into the hole. Scoring will be best ball. (100 % handicap)
May 15th 1:00 pm – One man scramble
Players will play two balls on every shot and take the one with the most favorable result. Scoring will be stroke play. (60% handicap)
June 11th & 12th 1:00 pm – Select Scoring (36 Holes) BLGC Open
Each player plays 36 holes. From his two cards, he selects his best score on each hole. The winner is the player with the lowest total score for the selected 18 holes. (75% handicap)
July 17th 1:00 pm – Modified Stableford
Players will play individual stroke play. Points are awarded based on score. Bogey is worth 1 point, par is worth 2 points, birdie is worth 5 points, and eagle is worth 8 points. The winner is the player with the highest point total at the end of the round. (80% handicap)
August 20th & 21st 11:00 am Saturday & 1:00 pm Sunday - BLGC President’s Cup
Players will be divided evenly into two teams. 27 holes will be played each day. The first 18 holes will be a 2 man scramble. The second 18 holes will be select drive alternate shot. The third 18 holes will be singles matches. Each nine holes will be worth 1 point, and the overall round will be worth 1 point. The side with the most points will win the competition. (90% handicap)
September 18th 1:00 pm – Flag tournament
Players will be given a small flag. Each flag will have a number on it that represents 90% of his handicap. The player will play individual stroke play until he has reached the number on his flag. At that point the player will place the flag where his last shot came to rest. The player who makes it furthest around the course will be the winner. (90% handicap)
October 16th 1:00 pm – 2 man shamble
Players will be divided into two man teams. Each player will hit a drive. The team mates will select the ball in the best position. Each player will play his own ball into the hole. The better of the two scores will be recorded. (80% handicap)
